Stratford Police say they have identified the individual involved in suspicious activity in and around the Bradshaw Drive area in Stratford during the early morning hours of July 2 and 3.

Since the start of the investigation, police said they have since learned that the suspicious male had entered a home on Bradshaw Drive.

The accused fled from the residence after being discovered in the bedroom of a 15-year-old female resident, police said.

"No items were stolen, no damage was caused, and no harm was caused to the residents of the home during that incident," police said in a news release.

After information was received, police were able to confirm the identity of the accused as a 14-year-old male resident of Stratford.

The accused was located and arrested by police shortly after 1 p.m. today.

The accused was transported to Stratford Police Headquarters where he was charged with the offences of break and enter and trespass by night.

"As a result of this accused being identified as a Young Offender, all images will be removed from the Stratford Police Service social media pages," the police service said.

Police requested that anyone who has shared images to have them removed as well, as it is an offence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act to identify a youth who is charged with a criminal offence.

"Thank you to all community members for the assistance in this matter, and for having all images of this youth removed from public view," the police service said.
