Stratford Police are joining police services across Ontario in participating in Crime Prevention Week.
This year’s theme is ‘Awareness. Engagement. Prevention.’
“Our goal for Crime Prevention Week is to highlight the importance of community awareness and engagement to prevent crime and help make our communities of Stratford, St Marys, and Perth South safe and welcoming places for everyone,” said Stratford Police Service in a news release.
Police say most types of crime are preventable and this week is a good time for everyone to think of what they can do to help keep communities safe.
“We all play a part in community safety and well-being,” the police service said. “Through every action we take while engaging with others in our community we can make an impact and prevent crimes before they occur.”
Crime Prevention Week runs until Nov. 11.
