One arrested following theft from St. Marys Cement

A man faces charges stemming from an incident that occurred over the weekend, Stratford Police Service said in a news release.

Police say they responded to a call on Sunday shortly before 11 a.m. regarding a suspicious male on the property of St Marys Cement.

The accused was allegedly seen stripping copper wire and had a large cart full of various materials.

He was located by police shortly after 11 a.m. and arrested for:

  • Theft under $5,000.

The accused was later identified as a 42-year-old male resident of London.

He was transported to Stratford Police Headquarters where he was charged with:

  • Theft under $5000.

He was released from custody on an Undertaking and is scheduled to attend court on July 11.
