January 24, 1948 - May 6, 2024
At Stratford Rotary Hospice on Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by his family, Kenneth Howard Pearson peacefully passed away after a battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Marg Heyden Pearson and loving father of Kendra Pearson (Tanya Ross), Kelly Relouw (Jim Archibald) and Mallory Pearson. Cherished ‘Papa Ken’ to Roland Rains, Linden, Findlay and Maclean Pearson-Ross. Ken is survived by his siblings, Dennis, Shirley, Bruce and Don Pearson, predeceased by his brother Jim, and sisters, Margaret and Ann. Ken was a well-loved uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A man of many talents and interests, Ken pursued an interest in flying and logged many hours in his pilot training. He was an avid cook and prepared many creative, and healthy meals for his family. Ken was a talented singer and guitar player. A quiet and unassuming man, Ken would only perform for his family, but his music was a soothing balm to those who were lucky enough to hear him sing. Ken was an athlete his entire life, playing hockey as a young boy and playing well into his seventies. Ken also was an avid in-line skater, competing in marathons around the world.
Ken worked alongside his brothers in many endeavours, including tiling, financial management in aircraft maintenance and the oil and gas industry. In his retirement, Ken enjoyed working with Monforte Dairy, returning to his rural roots by tending to the land and the farm.
Ken will be remembered for his gentle smile, his quiet sense of humour and for being a dedicated grandfather. He will be missed dearly. A private celebration-of-life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the Home Care nurses, the staff at the Cancer suite at Stratford General Hospital, and the medical team and coordinators at Stratford General Hospital, especially Dr. J. Haddad. Finally, Ken’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Stratford Rotary Hospice who made Ken’s last days so peaceful.
