Warriors welcome Cyclones to town Friday, while Lincs get showdown with Rockets

Regional rivals do battle Friday night in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League action.

Stratford will see the ice twice this weekend, starting with a home date on Friday, Nov. 8, when they welcome the defending Sutherland Cup champion Listowel Cyclones to the Allman Arena for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop. The Warriors then hit the road Sunday, Nov. 10, as they head to Chatham to clash with the Maroons.

The St. Marys Lincolns are looking to make it four wins in a row Friday night when they host the Strathroy Rockets at the Pyramid Centre in their lone game of the weekend and their last at the PRC before embarking on a six-game road trip next week in LaSalle. 

The 3-4 Fighting Irish hit the road twice this weekend, opening up on Friday night in Strathroy as they take on the 2-7 Jets. The Fighting Irish then head to Tillsonburg on Saturday for a date against the Thunder.

In regional hockey action from the Provincial Junior Hockey League, both area teams are in action Friday night. The Mitchell Hawks square off against the 13-1 Hanover Barons, who have had the Hawks number this season with two wins and a combined 13 goals for while only giving up two to the Hawks. The Tavistock Braves will be looking to build on their 2-1 record from last week when they welcome Wellesley Friday night.
