The stage is set for the Huron Perth Athletic Association junior and senior girls basketball finals.
On Monday, St. Micheal (St. Mikes) defeated F.E. Madill 48-18, to punch their ticket to the finals. On the other side of the semifinal bracket, St. Marys defeated Stratford District Secondary School 20-11. St. Marys finished undefeated at 7-0 during the regular season, while St. Mikes comes into the finals with a 6-1 record in the regular season with their lone loss coming against St. Marys in a tight 41-37 loss.
On the senior side, the undefeated St. Mikes advanced to the finals with a 63-27 win over St. Marys. On the other side of the bracket, Stratford fell to Mitchell 42-23. Both St. Mikes and Mitchell have dominated teams this year. Mitchell provided St. Mikes with their most competitive game of the season but still came out short 53-26.
Both finals are slated to take place Wednesday, Nov. 6, with the winners advancing to the WOSSAA championships.
