Warriors, Golden Bears have action-packed week

Basketball, volleyball and hockey teams all in action this week

It’s a busy week for student athletes in Stratford. 

Following a win on Monday, St. Micheal’s junior boys basketball team looks to continue their winning ways. The local boys beat Mitchell 52-32 on Monday. Tonight St. Mikes heads to Stratford District Secondary School with tip off at 5 p.m. 

SDSS comes in with an 6-0 record on the season while St. Mikes sits at 3-1. Both teams are scheduled to be back in action tomorrow, as SDSS hosts F.E. Madill while St. Mikes heads to Goderich to take on GDCI. 

On the senior boys side of the court, St. Mikes looks to rebound after a rough 65-35 loss against Mitchell on Monday. The senior Warriors look to get the win against SDSS at 3:30 p.m. today (Tuesday). The Golden Bears comes into this afternoon's game with a 6-0 record while the Warriors are 3-1. 

In volleyball action, the St.Mikes junior and senior girls host Mitchell at 3:30 p.m. today.  On the junior side the girls have a 4-0 record while the senior girls sit at 4-4 on the season. 

The Warriors volleyball teams are back in action on Thursday as they take on Central Huron and Listowel.

In hockey action, the Warriors' boys and girls teams are in action tomorrow; the boys take on F.E Madill, while the girls take on Listowel. The boys come into the game tomorrow with a 5-1 record, while the girls sit with a 4-0-1 record. 

On Thursday, the SDSS boys put their 5-1-1 record on the line when they host St. Anne’s at the Rotary Complex.
