Warriors and Lincs post winning weekends

It was a pretty good weekend in regional hockey action. 

Six different players hit the score board for the Stratford Warriors as they rolled to a 7-1 win over the visiting Komoka Kings Friday night. Carter Petrie scored twice, while Quinn Kipfer, Dracen Campbell, Aaron Green, Tyler Kelly, and Zachary Schooley added one apiece. On Sunday, the Warriors would need overtime against Chatham, but not much of it. Hunter Nagge scored 42 seconds into overtime as the Warriors overcame Chatham 2-1. Cole Lewis added the other goal in the win, while Carter McDougall stopped 37 shots in the victory. 

The St. Marys Lincolns outlasted St. Thomas 3-2 on Friday, thanks to a two-goal game from Owen Voortman. Owen Kalp added the other goal in the win. The Lincs then took down the Listowel Cyclones 4-1 in their Sutherland Cup revenge game, with Jaden Lee and Luca Spagnolo both scoring twice. Goaltender Colby Booth-Housego would stop 22 of 23 shots in the win. 

The Fighting Irish got two goals from Christian Polillo and Zach Magwood in a 6-4 Stratford win over Delhi. Cooper Leitch and Graham Brulotte also added goals in the win. 

In Provincial Junior Hockey League action,the Tavistock Braves fell to the Paris Mounties 4-3. Tavisotock bounced back in a big way, as Grady Murphy led the way for the Braves with a hat-trick in an 11-1 win over Hespeler.
