Furlong posts shutout as Warriors crush Caledon

Warriors bounce back, Lincs stay hot, and Irish lose home opener

After suffering their first loss of the season, the Stratford Warriors bounced by with a big win Friday night while the St. Marys Lincolns kept rolling right along.

The Warriors rebounded from their first loss of the season in a big way, as they rolled the Caledon Bombers 9-0. Colin Slattery had a goal and an assist, while Cole Lewis added two goals and an assist to pace the Warriors. Chase Furlong stopped 18 shots to earn the shutout. 

St. Marys remained undefeated after steamrolling to a pair of shutouts over the weekend. Ryan Hodkinson scored a goal on Friday night as the Lincolns shutout Pelham 7-0 before adding two goals and an assist on Saturday as the Lincolns would shutout Fort Erie 5-0.

In the Ontario Super Hockey League, the Stratford Fighting Irish suffered their first loss of the season 6-3 against Elora.

In the Provincial Junior Hockey League, the Mitchell Hawks suffered back-to-back losses: they were were shut out Friday 3-0 by Fergus, and then lost a tough 4-3 decision to Walkerton in a shootout. The Tavistock Braves clipped Wellesley 7-6, as Grady Murphy got a goal and an assist in the win.
