Holiday celebrations in St. Marys continue with the launch of the Holiday Light Tour on Monday, Dec. 4.

The self-guided tour, which runs until Jan. 1, features more than 15 "beautifully lit and decorated homes" throughout the area, according to a medial release from the Town of St. Marys.

Holiday Light Tour maps can be found online or picked up at the St. Marys Museum, town hall, municipal operations centre, Pyramid Recreation Centre, Friendship Centre, and St. Marys Public Library.

The St. Marys Museum open house is on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m., and includes children’s crafts, festive treats, door prizes and a silent auction. Admission is free, but donations to the museum are welcome.

Each evening from 5 to 11 p.m., the WinterLights holiday display will be illuminated at Milt Dunnell Field. Horse and wagon rides will be available on Dec. 15 and 16 from 5 to 8 p.m., and Dec. 23 and 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The inaugural WinterLights Night Market runs at Milt Dunnell Field from 5 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 15 and 16, and showcases the work of a variety of local artisans, craftspeople and vendors. The market also features food and refreshments, holiday music, and fire pits.

The Pyramid Recreation Centre is offering free skate and swim times throughout the holiday season. Pre-registration is recommended. A schedule of free events can be found online.

You can snag last-minute holiday gifts downtown. Local shops, restaurants and services have festive ideas and you can give the gift of shopping local by buying St. Marys Money, available through an online form.
