Junior B Hockey: Two weekend wins for Warriors

Stratford are in second place after three straight wins in the GOJHL Midwestern conference

Jaxon Broda scored a goal and added four assists to lift Stratford Warriors to a 6-1 win over the Brantford Bandits at the William Allman Memorial Arena. 

Broda opened the scoring for the Warriors in the first period of the GOJHL Midwestern conference game on Sunday. 

Will Bray had the Bandits lone goal in the second period in between markers from Joey Brehmer (15th) and Kaeden Burger (3rd) for the Warriors. 

Evan Hjelholt scored his second goal of the season in the third period. Carson Harmer (27th) and Michael Denney, with his league-leading 31st goal of the season, rounded out the scoring for the Warriors. 

Matthew Perdue stopped 29 shots for the Warriors. Dylan Dewachter and Lennart Neisse combined for 36 saves for the Bandits. 

On Friday night, Camden Daigle notched a hat trick for the Warriors in a 7-0 win over Caledon Bombers at the Allman Arena. 

Daigle opened the scoring in the first period and added another in the second period, one of five Warriors' goals in the middle frame. Cole Brooks, Carson Harmer, Zach Bell and Cole Lewis added single markers for the Warriors. Daigle rounded out the scoring in the third period. 

Broda had three assists for the Warriors.

Carter McDougall stopped 14 shots for Stratford. Marked Andreoli turned aside 36 shots for the visitors. Stratford travel to Ayr for a game on Thursday. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
