NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF STRATFORD
*************************
Today, Dec. 3, the City of Stratford and the Accessibility Advisory Committee observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

It’s an opportunity to recognize the importance of ensuring that all citizens, regardless of barriers they may face, have full access to their community.

The United Nations theme for 2024 is “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.”

The City of Stratford recognizes the diverse needs of our community and strives, with the help of recommendations from the Accessibility Advisory Committee, to provide municipal services and facilities that provide equal opportunities for all.

For more information on the work being completed by the City and the Accessibility Advisory Committee, please visit the City’s Accessibility webpage.

The accessibility page contains a variety of information on:

  • plans and policies that have been adopted, along with annual updates to adopted plans;
  • the City’s Facilities Accessibility Design Manual;
  • accessible transit and parking;
  • how to report an issue and provide feedback;
  • how to watch previously recorded videos of meetings;
  • a service directory for people with disabilities living in Huron and Perth Counties
  • Mobi-mats.
