An investigation conducted by officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County OPP Major Crime Unit, Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Wellington County OPP CSCU, and Grey-Bruce OPP CSCU, resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and offence-related property. Criminal charges have been laid against two South Huron residents.
An investigation initiated in January 2025 by members of the Huron-Perth CSCU led investigators to addresses in South Huron.
On Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, search warrants were executed on Main Street and McConnell Street in the Town of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron, which resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and related property. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.
A quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized. The total value of the illegal drugs seized is estimated at $15,990. Additional offence-related property and cash seized by police totalled $3,250.
Kyle Campbell, 38 years of age from South Huron, has been charged with:
- possession for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl,
- possession for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine,
- possession of a prohibited device,
- possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order,
- fail to comply with condition of release order.
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.
Larissa Le, 32 years of age from South Huron, has been charged with:
- possession for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl.
The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice on March 31, 2025.
