Perth OPP charge Stratford man with impaired driving

36-year-old faces charges for impaired driving after a motor vehicle collision investigation

A driver is arrested and charged for impaired driving after a motor vehicle collision investigation.

At approximately 11:26 p.m. on August 31, 2024, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were investigating a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 near Line 26, Township of Perth South. 

Police located a pickup truck in the ditch on Highway 7. During the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized on the driver. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment where further tests were administered. 

As a result, Andrew BURRELL, a 36-year-old of Stratford, has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver - BAC above zero

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on October 7, 2024 to speak to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver's License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
