Police have arrested and charged and individual in relation to a sexual assault investigation in the Township of Perth East.
On February 24th, 2025, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police launched an investigation after receiving information of sexual misconduct in the Town of Sebringville.
The incidents were reported to have occur over the span of one month.
As a result of the investigation assisted by the Perth County Crime Unit, the 62-year-old accused has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age
- Sexual Interference
- Luring a Person Under 16 Years of Age
The accused was held for bail and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on February 26th, 2025.
A publication ban has been issued in this case; therefore, no further information will be released to protect the identity of the victim and to comply with the order.
There is no statute of limitations on sexual offences and a report can be made to police at any time, regardless of how much time has passed.
