February 6, 1935 - December 14, 2024
It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Aunt Weezie who passed away December 14, 2024 at the age of 89.
Louise was born in Stratford, ON, February 6, 1935, the youngest child of Morton and Mina Squire and sister to Elaine, Marion, Morton (Mauna) and Norah (Dick) who have all predeceased her. She went on to graduate from the Woodstock General Hospital School of Nursing. Her professionalism and kindness endeared her to her coworkers in various hospitals in Ontario and in Boston, MA where she and Marion went on a three-year nursing adventure. She retired as Nurse Manager of the 5th floor at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener in 1989.
She will be deeply missed by her Zorgdrager nephews and nieces; Brent (Nancy) of Kitchener; Connie (Jeff), Alan (Susan), Dale (Libby), all of Stratford. Sadly predeceased by her great-nephew, Thomas in infancy and by her dear nephew, Owen. Louise also enjoyed relationships with our children and grandchildren and will be remembered fondly by Brad, Andrew (Emily) & Noah, Hilary; Jane (Braden), Dean (Eilish) & Alexis, Rosie; Alanna, Trent, Lara; Luke, Emma. She is loved and remembered by her Squire nieces and nephews in Edmonton; Janet (Vern), Marianne (Mike), Corinne, James (Shannon) and by Jessica (Thomas) & Jane. Fondly remembered by John (Judy) McBride and by Marge Brown, all of KW.
Louise’s steadfast faith in God sustained her throughout her life. She was an avid baseball and hockey fan and enjoyed cheering on the Blue Jays, Leafs and Kitchener Rangers. She loved British television and enjoyed several trips with her sisters to the UK, to Williamsburg, VA and to Bermuda. She loved the dogs in her neighbourhood and they loved her as she always had treats for them.
We love you, Louise and will so miss your presence in our lives!
As Louise desired, a private graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford where she will be laid to rest with her sisters, Elaine and Marion.
