Gerald William Siemon, age 90, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on January 19, 2025. Born in Stratford, son of the late John and Minnie (Eisler) Siemon.
Gerald farmed in Logan Township before moving to Stratford in 1986. He worked at Dominion Chain until his retirement. Gerald will be remembered as a crossing guard in Stratford for 18 years and his love of camping and fishing.
Beloved husband for 70 years of Dolores (Mikel). Father of Dianne Matt (Cecil) and the late Judith Kelland (Richard). Grandfather of Tiffiny (Jeremy), Courtney (Luke), Lee-Ann (James), Matthew (Kate). Great grandfather of Blake, Kaylee, Avery, Chloe, Ryker, Tyler, Cierra, Carlie and Cole. Brother-in-law of Ruthann Siemon, Joyce Beacham, Ronald Mikel (Peggy), Glen Mikel (Anne), Gloria Huitema (Keith), Gary Mikel (Sandra), Karen Hislop (Don), Janet Shaw (Jerry), Dennis Mikel (Marianne) and Donna Brodhagen.
Predeceased by brothers Donald and Lloyd Siemon, brothers-in-law Bernie Beacham, Roy Mikel and sister-in-law Linda Mikel.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, January 22, from 3-5 p.m. A private family service will take place with interment at 1st St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
