Benito Bruno Dassie, age 92, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025 in Tavistock at The Maples Home for Seniors. Born in Conegliano Treviso, Italy, son of the late Dionisio and Amabile Dassie. Benito immigrated to Canada in 1956 from Italy and was an autobody mechanic his entire working career. Benito is survived by his true love Elena Lena (Misuraca) Dassie of 61 years. Loving and caring father of Nancy Dassie, Dino (Carla) Dassie and loving Nonno to Stefania, Fabio, Brittany and Jenna. Benito will be fondly remembered by his twin brother Aldo Armando Dassie and sisters-in-law Edivige Dassie, Carmela Santini, Anna Chircop, Isabella (Nicola) D’Agostino, Settimia (Alfredo) Capasso along with his many Dassie and Misuraca nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Benito was predeceased by his siblings Rosina (Giobatta “Giovanin”) Lorenzet, Maria (Luigi) Maganin, Assunta (Maggiolino) De Lozzo, Silvia Dassie, Bruna (Renzo) Zorzini, Rina (Cirilo ) Piovesana and Lorenzo Dassie.
Elena and her family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful staff for the care and compassion Benito received at The Maples, it is very much appreciated.
Friends and relatives are invited to Benito’s visitation on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. (Parish Prayers will be held at 3:45 p.m.) at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 50 Well St, Stratford, ON. Entombment will take place following the mass at Avondale Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
