September 26, 1938  -  December 14, 2024

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our dear father, Thurman Reynolds on December 14, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with ALS. Born in Glasgow Scotland on September 26,1938 to the late John and Ellen Reynolds. On November 27,1959 he married the love of his life Ann Balmain who predeceased him December 17,2022.

Left to cherish his memory are his 3 children and their spouses, Paul Reynolds and Teresa Mae, Jane and Roger Feltz, Iain and Joanne Dente-Reynolds. Proud grandfather of Aaron Feltz (Kayla), Taylor Feltz (Jocie), Emma Rose (Dan), Connor Reynolds (Crisi), Fraser Reynolds, Callan Reynolds (Kylie).Missing him will be his 8 great grandchildren.

Dad will be missed by his sister-in-law Bette Reynolds, and his 5 nieces and nephews. It was a difficult year for Dad as he lost his only brother Stewart Reynolds (January 2024) and his brother-in-law and friend Gordon Balmain (April 2024).

Born and raised in a tenement building in Glasgow Scotland. He attended Queenspark Highschool where he met our mom, Ann Balmain and their 70-year love affair began. Dad attended Stow College where he began his career as a printer after serving 2 years in the army. Following Mom and Dad's marriage in 1959, they bought a house in Glasgow and welcomed Paul and Jane to their family. Seeking more opportunity, Dad left the bonnie homeland, arrived in Canada December 17,1966 and in February of 1967 he was joined by the rest of his family to settle in Stratford Ontario. Mom and Dad welcomed another son, Iain and their family was complete.

Always a very proud Canadian, there were many July 1 celebrations, with the yard decorations, food and friendship and welcomed all to attend. He always loved to host New Years Day celebrations, where there would be standing room only at the house for dinner. Given his age, he was a whiz with the computer and graphics and assisted with many projects over the years. Dad was a very kind and selfless man, always seeing the positive in people and things. When Mom's health was declining, he cared for her selflessly with dignity and compassion and allowed her to remain at home until she passed. Always a practical and organized man, his house was organized, catalogued and always pristine. Earlier in the year, when he was diagnosed with this horrible disease, his main concern was not to burden his family and others, content he had a long and happy life. We were honoured as a family, to be able to provide care for him, to remain in his home of over 57 years where we have so many happy memories. Although he never complained we take comfort in knowing his struggles are over and he is reunited with "his girl".

We would like to thank Dr.Langford for her care and compassion to both Mom and Dad over the years, to Care Partners Nurse Wanda for supporting us through difficult decisions and to PSW Ehino who was a ray of sunshine to him when she came to provide care.

The family will celebrate his life privately.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the ALS Society of Canada where we hope one day a cure can be found through the W. G. Young, 430 Huron St Stratford, ON. www.wgyoungfuneralome.com
