March 14, 1927  -  December 14, 2024

Roy Verne Moore, age 97, peacefully passed away in his sleep at the Stratford General Hospital on December 14, 2024. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of over 72 years, Millie (Feltz) and is survived by their three children, Ron (Raymonde) Moore, Gary (Marilyn) Moore, and Joan (Paul) Fitzgeorge. He is missed and loved deeply by his grandchildren, Lyndsay (Scott), Jason (Michelle), Jonathan (Desiree), Craig (Sarah), and Stephanie (Maxwell), as well as his 13 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Tanya.

Roy was born to Ralph and Beulah Moore. His brother and dear friend Glen will lovingly remember their countless shenanigans and time together; Feltz in-laws Roy, Shirley, Beryl and Moore cousins, Alice, Sam (Agnus) will also remember him fondly. He was a cherished brother/brother-in-law to predeceased Gladys, Wilma (Floyd), Eldon, Mervin (Marion), Gordon, Evelyn, Ivan (Ruby), and Donna (Russell). He is remembered affectionately by his large extended family and many friends.

Dad appreciated the social time spent with the many loved ones he had met throughout his life. Dad was an active member of the Community of Christ Church, several antique and hobby associations, and the Old Time Band. He was also an avid skater, walker, crokinole player, camper, snowmobiler, volunteer, and enjoyed time spent in his garage. The majority of Dad's working life was with the Ontario Department of Highways. In all these places and more, Dad found wonderful people to connect with.

Dad was a hard worker, strong, loyal, and caring person. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was full of fun and had a great sense of humour. His charisma and ability to bring people together brightened up any room he entered.

Thank you to the medical team on the third floor of the Stratford hospital. A special thank you to Zoe and Mark, Ruth and Al, Charlene and John for their support.

A private service will be held. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Community of Christ Church or a charity of one's choice through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford. 519.271.7411.
