William George Earl Johnson, age 94, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on October 15, 2024. Born in Toronto, son of the late Earl and Doris (Holland) Johnson.
William served 22 years with Royal Canadian Air Force in Grostenquin, France, Cold Lake, Alberta, Baden-Soellingen, Germany, Comox, B.C., and Moncton, N.B. until retiring and worked with Canada Post for 10 years. He was a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Beloved husband for 73 years of Barbara (Douglas). Father of Stephen (Mary), Danna (Laura). Grandfather of Candice (Max), Tiffany (Paul), Vanessa, Brandon (Pam), Leah (Kim). Great grandfather Evan, Elyse, Lily, Ellie. Brother of Glenda Salter and brother-in-law of Bonnie Hlusiak (William).
Predeceased by brother-in-law Fred Salter and Sister-in-law Brenda Gimber (Hans).
The family would like to thank the staff of Cedarcroft Place and Stratford General Hospital for their care.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, October 19, from 1-2 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Avondale Cemetery.
