The Stratford Warriors posted the only bright spot for local hockey fans over the weekend, avenging their loss from earlier in the week to the LaSalle Vipers.

Chase Furlong made 24 saves in the Warriors' 4-0 win over LaSalle, while Hudson Binder, Cole Lewis, Rhyse Brown and Quinn Kipfer had a goal apiece in the win. The team returns to action Friday, Dec. 6, when they head to St. Catharines for a date against the Falcons.

The up-and-down play continued for St. Marys Friday night: despite goaltender Colby Booth-Housego stopping 27 shots, the Lincolns dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the visiting London Nationals. Cohen Bidgood and Luca Spagnolo scored for the Lincolns in the loss.

Goaltender Zach Weir played hard on Saturday, and made 46 saves for the Stratford Fighting Irish, but the Stratford offence dried up in a 2-0 loss to the visiting Elora Rocks.

In Provincial Junior Hockey League play the Mitchell Hawks fell 7-5 to the Fergus Whalers.
