It was a good month of hockey for two local Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League teams and now a few players are being recognized.
Both the Stratford Warriors and the St. Marys Lincolns remain undefeated on the young season and a trio of players from them has earned GOJHL Collins Clothiers Players of the month awards.
The goaltender of the month award went to Stratford's Carter McDougall. The 20-year-old is 5-0 on the season with a 1.58 goals against average, and a .942 save percentage. The rookie of the month went to Jack McGurn, as the 17-year-old has put up seven points in five games including two goals against Elmira.
St. Marys Lincolns captain Luca Spagnolo captured player of the month honours after he put up six goals and nine points in five games this season.
The Warriors are back in action on Thursday against Ayr, while St. Marys hosts Pelham on Friday.
