L’Arche Stratford and its donors have raised over $3.8 million in its Be Belong Become campaign, a vision to build a new community property at 426 Britannia St.

L’Arche Stratford, a leader in inclusivity where individuals with and without developmental disabilities share their lives together, embarked on a journey to repurpose the former Montessori School at 426 Britannia St. in 2017. That vision has transformed into a new build to construct an innovative community hub.

The 4th Annual Golf Tournament is being held on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at the Stratford Country Club. Registration and lunch are at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

An After-Party will be held at the Ritsma Farm at 4 p.m. with a BBQ Food Truck, live entertainment by Our Little Band and the Bannerman Brothers, beer, wine and a silent auction.

Registration is $150 for a single golfer and $600 for a foursome. Registration includes 9 holes of golf, cart, lunch and After-Party.

If you’re not a golfer, come to the After-Party at the Ritsma Farm for only $75.

Registration can be done online at https://bit.ly/3RC84aR. Registration closes on July 15.

There is an urgent need in Perth and Huron Counties to deliver Community Participation Support and Housing, with only 3 per cent of requests for support filled in 2021-22.

L’Arche Stratford’s’ Be Belong Become campaign will help to fill the gap in housing but also double its capacity for supporting people with Passport funding administration, which is an essential service for people with developmental disabilities enabling opportunity to participate in daily activities and connections with the community.

The organization is only 60 per cent to its goal of $6.5 million to build the new hub and remain mortgage free. Reaching the campaign goal would afford L’Arche Stratford the ability to invest in the continued need for housing and growth to support community members in Huron-Perth.
