Huron-Perth basketball semis see lots of local flavour

Warriors, Golden Bears earn spots in senior, junior girls basketball semi-finals

Local teams will be doing battle in the junior and senior girls highschool basketball semi-finals. 

On the junior girls side, St. Marys had already captured the top spot and a bid to the semi-finals, while F.E. Madill, St.Michaels and Stratford District Secondary School are all joining them after winning their quarterfinal matchups. Madill beat Listowel 36-24, St. Michaels beat Central Huron 45-16, and Stratford won a close one against Mitchell 27-24.

The semi-finals take place on Monday with St.Marys taking on Stratford, and St. Michaels taking on F.E. Madill. 

On the senior side, St. Michaels captured the top spot and a bid to the semi-finals. They will be joined by Mitchell, St. Marys and Stratford: Mitchell roughed up St. Annes 65-9, St. Marys defeated Goderich 52-12 and Stratford beat Madill 45-31.

The senior girls semi-finals also take place on Monday, with St. Michaels taking on St. Marys, and Stratford taking on Mitchell. 

The finals for both the junior and senior girls basketball season will take place on Wednesday, November 6.
