Stratford District Secondary School will send eight of its track and field athletes to OFSAA this weekend at Western University in London after a strong showing at regionals in Windsor May 31-June 1.
Caden Diehl led the way for SDSS with a bronze in the junior boy’s triple jump (12.56m) and a fourth in pole vault (3.35m), earning him a spot at provincials. Daniel Ogilvie also collected bronze after finishing third in the senior boy’s 3000m (8:36.56), while Noah Feltham also was third in the junior boy’s 3000m (9:17.84).
Jashan Singh (junior boy’s discus - 49.17m), Joel Gates (novice boy’s 1500m - 4:26.36) and Luke Feltham (senior boy’s 3000M - 8:37.02) each finished in fourth, punching their ticket to Western for provincials.
Luke Feltham (senior boy’s 1500m - 4:03.26) and Maddox Anderson (novice boy’s discus - 37.40m) both finished in fifth place, while Singh (junior boy’s pole vault - 14.29m) Gates (novice boy’s 3000M - 9:46.15) and Diehl (junior boy’s long jump - 5.93m) added sixth-place finishes.
Junior pole vaulters Daniel Bean and Cole Otten also qualified for provincials.
