The Stratford Chefs School (SCS) started in Stratford 40 years ago with a pull-up your boot-straps attitude, and has been paving the way in Canadian culinary education ever since.
Now, the organization is set to celebrate in a uniquely-chefs school way: a gala.
The opulent evening takes place on March 10 at Elora Mill, according to a media release. The organization is promising an unforgettable celebration of culinary excellence and achievement.
Established in 1983 by Joseph Mandel, James Morris, and Eleanor Kane, the school is a renowned not-for-profit career college dedicated to providing innovative, hands-on training to aspiring chefs and culinary entrepreneurs.
SCS is celebrated for its role in shaping talented cooks into world-class chefs.
Gala guests will indulge in gourmet food, fine wines, and captivating experiences. Tickets for the event are priced at $225 per person and include a bubbly and hors d’oeuvres reception, a multi-course dinner with curated wines, and silent and live auctions featuring unique items and experiences.
Guests will have the opportunity to bid on specially curated auction items, such as being a student for a week and even dinner and getaways at restaurants and B&Bs owned and operated by alumni.
The gala dinner will be orchestrated by the SCS chef instructor team, led by Randi Rudner (class of 2012) and the graduating class of 2024, showcasing their culinary prowess and what they have learned from the school.
Transportation is available for gala guests, costing $25 per person. The coach departs Stratford at 4 p.m. and returns after the event is finished.
The attire is “business elegant,” though black tie is optional.
