The Government of Canada has a pair of weather alerts posted to their website for Stratford and area issued earlier today.
A snow squall warning has been issued for Stratford, Mitchell and southern Perth County, stating squalls are possible beginning tonight. Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 15-25 cm is possible, with peak snowfall rates of 2-5 cm per hour. Very poor to no visibility is projected in the heavy and blowing snow.
The alert runs from tonight until Thursday night.
A blowing snow advisory was also issued for the same area, with poor to near zero visibility at times in falling and blowing snow. A low pressure system is expected to move into the area today, bringing snow and strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h. That will significantly affect visibility, especially in open areas that have received fresh snow and is expected to have an impact on the afternoon commute.
Both alerts can be found here.
