WEATHER ALERT

Issued at 2024-12-04 3:31PM EST by Environment Canada:
Snow squall warning replaces snow squall watch for:
Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County, Ont.
Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County, Ont.

Current details:
Snow squalls possible beginning tonight.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 15 to 25 cm possible.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 5 cm per hour.
Very poor to nil visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
This evening through Thursday night.

Discussion:
A snow squall may develop overnight and move across the region as a cold front moves through. In the wake of the cold front several bands of snow squalls from Lake Huron will affect the region Friday through Thursday night.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Road closures are possible.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
