Charging up your electric vehicle in Stratford will now be a little easier.
Six new level 2 EV charging stations are ready for use at the Kalbfleisch municipal parking lot, located at the corner of Erie Street and St. Patrick Street.
The six new spots are just the tip of the iceberg for Stratford. In the next few weeks, four level 2 charging ports will be installed at the Albert lot.
By the project’s end in January 2025, a total of 23 new charging ports will be available in downtown city parking lots, including a new Level 3 fast charging station.
The charging stations will be installed with support from Natural Resources Canada through its zero emission vehicle infrastructure program. About $160,000 of this fund has gone into installing charging stations in public areas around the Festival City, which is expected to cost a total of $483,428. The City of Stratford will foot the rest of the $317,428 cost.
