The City of Stratford is aware of an error that has resulted in an early withdrawal of pre-authorized tax payments scheduled for December 1.
We are investigating this matter, but want to apologize to anyone affected by this error.
The City will work with affected property owners but ask for your patience as we work through this.
If you experience a returned property tax payment through your financial institution, please contact our office at 519-271-0250 extension 5212 to make alternate arrangements.
There will not be another withdrawal on December 1, and your property tax account will not be charged interest or fees through December 31, 2024.
Affected property owners may be able to contact their financial institutions to reverse the transaction in the short term, or to discuss alternatives.
Again, we realize this will cause inconvenience for some residents and will try to assist you through this time. We appreciate your patience as staff work to advise you.
