The community really stepped up for pets in need, as over 5,000 pounds of food was donated during the Jingle Paws Holiday Market.
This year was the second annual market, which is run by Paws on Patrol Stratford and owner Tyler Jouwsma, and it provided fun for the entire community and a chance to shop while also raising money for Stratford House of Blessing.
“Together we raised over 5,000 pounds of pet food and necessities, with the Stratford House of Blessings receiving 2,500 pounds of pet food,” said Jouwsma. “They will also receive 2,500 pounds of cat litter, ensuring their shelves are fully stocked for families in need this holiday season.”
It was an amazing event that featured vendors, pets, and close to 1,000 attendees, that was held at Evermore Compassionate Afterlife Per Care.
“This years event was a tremendous success,” said Jouwsma. “We hosted over 40 vendors including delicious food vendors, and fresh Christmas trees. There was also live music, and close to 1,000 people, 300 dogs, and even a llama joined in on the fun.”
Many people also donated directly to the organizers, who will use the donations to help furry families in need.
“More than 500 pounds was directed to the Paws on Patrol Stratford Pet Pantry Drive,” said Jouwsma. “These donations will go towards creating care packages for families and individuals so they can keep their pets at home, with delivery being offered to those who need it.”
Plans for next year's event with new ideas are already in the works.
“To keep things fresh and highlight local businesses, we aim to use a different venue annually,” said Jouwsma. “For 2025, we’re excited to explore a 50/50 indoor-outdoor format to accommodate even more vendors and visitors & their furry families.”
