StratfordToday received the following letter to the editor regarding a driver recently being charged after reving the engine of his truck at a traffic light.

Dear sir or madam.

I read with concern about a 20 year old Mitchell man stopped and charged for excessively revving the motor of his truck at a stop light.

While I find some of those displays annoying (much like the big Harley motorcycles blasting through town), I see his charges being an arbitrary money grab and a reaction of the police to someone who dared to show "bravado" and not a legitimate violation.

No mud guards? Improper tire? Have you seen what people do to their cars these days?

Let young people express themselves - our world already costs enough!

I want police to protect me from theft and violence.

Make money road infractions are overblown and so so easy for the police to be seen to be doing something.
