Two arrested after police respond to suspicious persons call

Two people were arrested early Friday morning after officers responded to a report of suspicious people on a residential property in Perth East.

A male and a female were located by police in a cabin on the property.

A 31-year-old resident of East Zorra-Tavistock Township has been charged with:
    •    Unlawfully in a dwelling house
    •    Fail to comply with probation order
    •    Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

A 28-year-old resident of Stratford has been charged with:
    •    Unlawfully in a dwelling house
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - other drugs

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

A North Perth resident was arrested on Thursday in relation to a Feb. 6 theft investigation.

A witness reported observing an unknown male remove a package from a porch of a residence located on Elizabeth Street East in North Perth.

A 35-year-old has been charged with theft under $5,000.

Perth County OPP launched an investigation on Wednesday after it was determined that a number of flashing red lights at multiple railway crossings between Forest Road and Road 108 in Perth East had been damaged.

Public should be reminded that it is considered trespassing to be on the tracks and can be fined under the Trespass to Property Act and/or Railway Safety Act.

A Sarnia resident was arrested on Wednesday afternoon during an harassment investigation in West Perth.

The victim reported to police that they have been receiving continuous unwanted calls, emails and messages from the accused.

A 49-year-old was held in custody to await a bail hearing, and stands charged with:
    •    Criminal harassment - repeatedly communicate
    •    Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend courtFailure to comply with undertaking

One person was arrested on March 4 shortly before 10 p.m. after officers responded to a domestic disturbance.

“The victim reported a historical mischief from January 2023,” says a news release. “The victim reported that the suspect damaged items inside the home.”

As a result of this instigation, a 27-year-old resident of Perth County was arrested and charged with:
    •    Mischief - destroys or damages property
    •    Cruelty to animals - unnecessary pain, suffering or injury
    •    Cause damage or injury to animal or bird - fail to provide suitable/adequate food, water, care, shelter
