Stratford man facing multiple intimate partner violence charges

Local man charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, aggravated sexual assault and more following incident in city's north-west end December 5

The investigation regarding an incident involving intimate partner violence, which occurred on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 has concluded with the subject male, who was identified as 51-year-old Randal Ackersviller of Stratford being charged with numerous criminal offences including:
    •    Aggravated Assault
    •    Assault with a Weapon
    •    Assault Cause Bodily Harm
    •    Aggravated Sexual Assault
    •    Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
    •    Utter Threats
    •    Forcible Confinement
    •    Intimidation
    •    Firearms Offences x5
    •    Breach of Release Order x5

These charges come after the victim in this matter escaped from Ackersviller and was located walking along Mornington Street in the City of Stratford shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 5. Ackersviller was located within the residence where he had barricaded himself inside. Police were able to successfully negotiate with Ackersviller and he was placed under arrest shortly before 11 a.m. that morning. Ackersviller remains in custody for a bail hearing.

The Stratford Police Service would like to recognize the actions of the bystander who stopped to provide aid to the victim in this matter and commend them for the assistance provided.
