Sawed-off shotgun, taser, meth, seized in St. Marys

Stratford police recovered weapons and drugs after a public safety search warrant in St. Marys on Tuesday. 

Police conducted the warrant shortly before 8 p.m., finding a sawed-off shotgun, 20-gauge shotgun shells (a total of 11), a taser and more than 10 grams of methamphetamine. 

Two males were arrested, ages 28 and 29. Both are St. Marys residents. 

The accused were taken to Stratford Police headquarters and held in custody for a bail hearing. 

Both are charged with nine weapons-related offences, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. 

The 28-year-old male has three separate weapon prohibition orders due to convictions for weapons, drugs, and assault related offences from 2021 to 2022. He was also bound by a probation order related to several violent  offences.

The 29-year-old male has four separate weapon prohibitions via convictions from 2016 to 2017, also related to weapon and assault offences.

Both were charged for breaching conditions.
