There was an increased police presence in the City of Stratford this morning as the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police executed a warrant.
On Jan. 22, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Oxford OPP attended an address on Downie Street in the City of Stratford and executed a warrant in relation to an ongoing investigation in Oxford County.
The warrant was executed without incident and as a result, a 44-year-old resident of Stratford was charged with the following offences:
- Break-and-enter into a dwelling house
- Assault with a weapon
- Mischief
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with a release order (three counts)
No injuries were reported.
