One person suffers life-threatening injuries following collision

NEW HAMBURG - Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Mississauga Detachment, Cambridge office, investigated a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7/8 at Walker Road in the Township of New Hamburg.

On Friday June 28, at 3:45 p.m. the OPP was called to a collision on Highway 7/8 at Walker Road in the Township of New Hamburg. A sedan was travelling eastbound on Highway 7/8 when it collided with an SUV in the intersection at Walker Road. The driver and sole occupant of the sedan, a 44-year-old male from Kitchener was not injured.

The driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old male from Milton and the front passenger, a 36-year-old female were transported to hospital with minor injuries. A rear-seat passenger in the SUV, a 66-year-old male was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition and another rear seat passenger, a 58-year-old female was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit assisted with the collision investigation. Highway 7/8 at Walker Road was closed for approximately five hours for the investigation.
