Intimate partner violence leads to charges for North Perth resident

NORTH PERTH — The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person following a recent intimate partner violence investigation in the Municipality of North Perth.

On July 24, 2024, police began an intimate partner violence investigation following a report of an assault that had occurred in Listowel that resulted in minor injuries to one person.

A 29-year-old resident of North Perth was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault - Spousal
  • Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm (two counts)
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order - other than to attend court

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
