Driver arrested after showing up at police station - impaired

A North Perth resident is facing an impaired driving charge after driving while impaired - to the police station.

On Dec. 8, just before 6:30 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation after a person drove to the North Perth OPP detachment to speak to an officer regarding a dispute. During the investigation, the driver was arrested.

As a result, Aldo Ramirez Marquina, 40, of North Perth, has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on Jan. 6.

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. 

The Perth County OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver, you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
