Martin John Van Dam, age 59, passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, September 16, 2024 doing what he loved most, working on his farm.
Born in Stratford, son of the late Martinus and Theodora (Nienhuis) Van Dam. Martin is survived by his true love and best friend Cheryl Anne (Nichols) Van Dam. Proud and loving father of Jeremy Van Dam, Grant Van Dam and Darren Van Dam (Amanda Witmer). Martin will be fondly remembered by his siblings Julius Van Dam, Harry and Andrea Van Dam and Ron and Mary-Ann Van Dam and his mother and father -in-law Jim and Joan Nichols and his sister-in-law Kim and Henco Van Zadelhoff and brother-in-law Brent Nichols and Angela McNaughton and his many nieces and nephews.
Martin enjoyed the farm; he took over the family operation in Downie Township and continued farming, which he took immense pride in.
In keeping with Martin’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
Besides his parents, Martin was predeceased by his brother Terry Van Dam.
