Robert Ian “Eion” Earl Smith, age 32, of Toronto, formerly of Stratford suddenly passed away in Toronto on December 12, 2023. Born in Stratford son of Laureen (Andrews) and the late Robert “Douglas” Smith (Nov 2022). Ian is survived by his mother and brother Jake Smith. Ian will be fondly remembered by his grandmother Corinne Andrews and his many uncles and aunts Frank Andrews (France), Cal Andrews (Heather), Darrin Andrews (Corinne), Janet Smith, David Smith (Renea) and Cheryl Deneire as well as many cousins and friends he called family.
Ian has had a great impact on many people and he will be missed by them all. He loved and was dedicated to his friends and family.
Ian proudly attended St Michael’s Catholic Secondary School where he involved himself wholly. He threw himself into academics and many extra curriculars with enthusiasm and passion. Among others were music and drama. He played alto saxophone in the Jazz, Concert, Junior and Senior bands. But the seed of his love of the art of technology, which led to creative film and digital advertising production, happened through his involvement in the drama department. He got behind the scenes in lighting and sound and saw how subtly a story changes through them. That led to his future career in media production and the creation of multiple companies ending with being the creative mind behind Combustion Digital’s current stream of holographic advertising.
Ian lived his life through the pursuit of knowledge and growth and passion for all he did. He chose the path less travelled and embraced the journey along the way. He loved friends and family quietly but intensely and was always in the background waiting to help someone in need. His impact will be forever felt in our lives and will be greatly missed.
Besides his father, Ian was predeceased by his grandparents Robert and Margorie (Myhill) Smith and grandfather Earl Andrews.

Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. And on Saturday, December 23, 2023 for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will be livestreamed, follow the prompts on Ian’s obituary through the funeral home website.
