Judith Ann Rose, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025 at Rotary Hospice. Daughter of the late Cecil Morden Carter and Norma Wemyss Carter, she was raised in Newmarket, Ontario with her brother, the late Terry Carter (late Louise). Judith was married for almost 64 years to her beloved husband, David Rose. Loving mother to the late Matthew Rose and Alexandra Dagger (late Derek). Cherished grandmother to Paul (Leah) and Jackson (Sarah). Judith will be remembered fondly by her in-laws Elizabeth Vizer, Sally Buchan and Rick Rose.

After meeting on a blind date at the University of Western Ontario, Judith and David then spent much of their married life overseas as members of Canada’s diplomatic corps. Their adventures took them to Nigeria, Tanzania, Italy, USA, China and Japan. Judith was an active volunteer and an elegant and accomplished hostess. Returning to the workforce when her children were older, she worked for the foreign service in Washington, Ottawa and Beijing.

Upon retirement, Judith and David settled in Stratford where she was an active volunteer with the Festival and Stratford Museum. Her happiest times in recent years were spent in the sunroom with David admiring her beautiful garden.

Family and friends are invited to St. James’ Anglican Church, 41 Mornington Street, Stratford on Thursday, February 13, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations in Judith’s memory may be made to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth.
