It’s with great sadness that we share our final farewell to Al, a kind and compassionate family man. Al passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Al arrived in Stratford from Manchester, England in early June 1957, experiencing an unusual light snowfall. He knew little about life that lay ahead of him in Canada, but he embraced Stratford and Canada with all his heart. Al spent many years of his life in the real estate business. He was well respected and developed many meaningful friendships over the years. As a family, we were always so proud of his ongoing commitment to helping the less fortunate in his community.
Al met his Welsh soulmate Eleri in 1962 and they began their life in Stratford after marrying in Wales 62 years ago. Al was blessed with two lovely daughters Deb (James) and Karen (Bruce). Fondly called Granddad, Al was so happy to share his love with his grandchildren Erin, Jake, John, Karleigh and Hailey. He was so thrilled to be a great grandad to Harrison and Hayden.
We will miss Al’s warm smile, kisses and hugs as well as his wonderful sense of humour, but we know he will be watching over us from above. G’night G’bless.
In keeping with Al’s wishes a private family service will be held, and he will be interred in God’s Holy Acre.
