Patricia “Pat” Joyce Patterson, age 85, of Stratford, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at LHSC- Victoria Hospital. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Elmer and Olive (Dow) Scott. Pat is survived by her best friend and true love of 65 years, Ronald Patterson. Loving mother of Murray (Brenda) Patterson and Glenn (Melaine) Patterson. Grandmother of Lauren (Matt) Doughty, Cody Patterson (Erin McGuire), Luke Patterson, Jacob (Rebecca) Patterson, Emily (Shannon) Dyke and great grandmother of Layton, Brady, Beau, Emery and Cohen. Pat will be fondly remembered by her sisters Jean Oppenhauser and Yvonne Tinning, her brother and sister-in-law Edna (Don) Hotson, Keith (Janet) Patterson, Janice (Robert) Davey and by her many nieces and nephews.
Pat, after graduating from high school, worked in Mitchell for Bell Telephone as an operator before it went to dial. Upon moving to Stratford, Pat worked for many years at Dr. John Duggan’s office. Before retiring she was the custodian for many years at Central United Church.
Ron and his family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of LHSC-Victoria Hospital for the wonderful care and to CarePartners for the outstanding care Pat received at home. It will never be forgotten.
Besides her parents, Pat was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Harold and Velma (Clarke) Patterson, her grandchildren Brianne and Daniel Patterson in infancy and brother James Scott in infancy and her sisters, brothers and in-laws; Audrey (Nelson) Brydges, Ken (Evelyn) Scott, Fred (Audrey) Scott, Earl Oppenhauser, Ruth (John) Millington Dorothy (James) Miller, Keith Tinning and Mary (Don) Swindall.
Friends and family are invited to Pat’s memorial service on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. No visitation prior to the service, following the service everyone is invited to a Celebration of life for Pat at the Army Navy Air force Hall, 151 Lorne Ave, East, Stratford from 4-8 pm.
