In Loving Memory of Peter Padacz

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a wonderful man Peter Padacz of London, Ontario. Peter was born in Stratford on May 31, 1969. He is predeceased by his parents Stanislaw Padacz who immigrated from Krakow Poland in 1954 to meet the love of his life Joan Marie Barron from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in Stratford and they were married in 1957. He is also predeceased by his sister Theresa (Padacz) Whalen and brother-in-law, Joseph Whalen.

Peter is survived by his brother Stanley Padacz and wife Nancy (Hood) Padacz, sister Rose Padacz and her husband David Greulich. Loving father to Morgan, Brett and Kashyc Padacz and partner Hayli Tryssenaar and their mother Christine Cassels. He was an uncle to Patrick Whalen, Sarah (Padacz) Virro, her husband David Virro and their children Marcus and Larkin, nephew Andrew Padacz, his wife Eleasha (Van Bommel) Padacz, their children Aiden and Benjamin, and niece Hannah Haggan.

Peter is also fondly remembered by many cousins, aunts and uncles throughout Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Stratford, Cambridge, London and Niagara Falls.

Peter often recanted fond memories of growing up in Stratford together with his neighbourhood pals on St. Vincent St. and school friends at St. Joseph’s, St. Michael’s and Northwestern Highschool. He spent his childhood fishing with Papa Stan and our Dziadek (Grandpa Peter), his namesake, and enjoyed spending time at our trailer in Port Albert with family and friends, star gazing by the camp fire through his telescope.

He loved hockey and played along side Tim Taylor, hoping one day to play in the big leagues. He also had a passion for motorcycles. At one point, he owned 4 of them, but his favourite was his Norton which everyone may remember or have accompanied Pete and Hutch to Dick’s Bike shop in Shakespeare or on a long ride to the shores of Lake Huron or Lake Erie.

After graduation, Peter attended Fanshawe College and returned to Stratford to work with McLean Taylor and the City of Stratford. He then moved to Waterloo and worked with Boyer Fencing and Benemann’s. Eventually he would return to London, Ontario and was employed by Western University and then Williams Form Hardware where he travelled the roads of Southwestern Ontario sometimes capturing photos of magnificent sunrises and sunsets.

Peter was a very kind soul who dearly loved his children, family, new and lifelong friends. Although his passing was sudden and unexpected, his future was bright as he was loved by so many including his little princess Lola, his adopted Boston Terrier, who was always by his side until the end. Although our hearts our heavy with sadness, hopefully we will all remember his beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humour and enormous kind heart.

Everyone is welcome to attend a Visitation that will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home in Stratford on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 1:00pm with a Service to follow at 2:00pm and reception afterwards.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Humane Society would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
