Freddy William Peter Follings passed away peacefully on Thursday November 7, 2024, at the Stratford General Hospital at the age of 69.

Born in Cambridge on May 8, 1955, the second son of the late William Follings and Anne (Moo) Follings (Van Gemert). Fred spent the majority of his life in the farming community of North Easthope Township.

Father of Frederick (Dayna) Follings and Matthew (Lindsay) Follings. Proud Grandpa of Nash, Miller and Blaine.

He will be missed by his brothers Ronald (Lorraine) Follings, William Follings, and sister Cathy (John) VanStraaten. Also survived by nephews Steven Follings, Aaron (Mandy) Follings, Jason Follings, Jeffery (Amy) VanStraaten, and Nicholas (Jenny) VanStraaten. Predeceased by niece Katie VanStraaten.

Fred was an elite fastball pitcher and passed on his love of the game to his sons and grandsons. He was a farmer, silo builder, and skilled millwright, specializing in moving and installing machinery.

A public celebration of Fred’s life will be held at the Shakespeare Optimist Hall on Saturday, November 23 from 1 - 4 pm. A private family interment will be held at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford.
