Mary Ann Cook, age 83, of Stratford passed away at the Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Born in London, Ontario, daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Miller) Rooney of St. Marys. Beloved wife of John Cook. Blended mom of Sherrill Bradly (Ed), Sylvia Richardson (Harry), Paul Finch, Steve Finch (Linda) and Julie Peterson (Jim). Dear sister of Robert Rooney (Ann) of Tavistock, Patrick Rooney (Bernice) of Woodstock, Edward Rooney (Cathy) of Ingersoll and sister-in-law of Hazel Rooney of Guelph. Predeceased by her sons Robert Cook and Mike Finch, brothers Joseph Rooney (late Doreen), William Rooney and Peter Rooney and sisters Margaret Cook (late Bill) and Cecilia Hoffman.
Mary Ann will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family was most important to Mary Ann and along with John enjoyed many years of travelling and camping. She was an excellent cross-stitcher and made many, many baby blankets.
Visitation at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10 am until the time of the Liturgy Service at 11 am followed by a reception. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery in the spring.
