WEATHER ALERT
ENVIRONMENT CANADA
*************************************
Snow squall warning replaces snow squall watch for:
    •    Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
    •    Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
    •    Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

Current details:
Lake effect snow squalls are expected today into Saturday.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 60 cm by Saturday evening, with higher amounts possible. Poor visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
Today through Saturday.

Discussion:
More organized lake effect snow squall bands are expected to redevelop this morning and continue into Saturday. The heaviest snowfall is expected tonight as stationary snow squall bands are expected to set up this evening. Local snowfall amounts of 60 cm are possible by Saturday evening, with higher amounts possible if snow squalls lock over one area. Northwest winds gusting up to 60 km/h can result in blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Road closures are possible.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
