The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is pleased to announce the winners of the Tuer-Hodes Family Awards, which took place today at Stratford General Hospital in the June Blanch Lobby. This prestigious event celebrated excellence within the HPHA by recognizing outstanding contributions to healthcare services. HPHA is incredibly proud of all our staff members who were nominated for this year’s awards.
The recipient of the Nursing Recognition Award for Exceptional Care is Samantha Metelski, a dedicated Critical Care nurse known for her positive and friendly demeanor. She fosters a supportive atmosphere on the unit, where she organizes social events to boost morale and camaraderie among colleagues. Samantha’s strong communication skills and advocacy for patients make her a respected leader within the team.
The Interprofessional Practice Recognition Award for Exceptional Care was awarded to Lauren Upper, a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist whose calm demeanor and problem-solving abilities have made her a leader in the field. Lauren's expertise extends beyond her technical skills as she excels in explaining complicated concepts in understandable terms and actively participates in quality initiatives to improve program objectives.
Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Dr. Leigh Chapman played a pivotal role in today's event, delivering insightful words of wisdom and encouragement. Her message resonated deeply with our staff, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence in their careers.
The HPHA extends their appreciation to Donnalene Tuer-Hodes and the entire Tuer-Hodes family for their ongoing recognition and celebration of innovative contributions and commendable practices. As well, a heartfelt congratulations to Samantha Metelski and Lauren Upper, and to all the nominees, for their exemplary service and dedication to providing exceptional healthcare.
